About Generic.com
Generic.com is the easiest way to find low-priced everyday stuff. We cover 25 shopping categories, from pantry staples to pet food to tools. For each one, we find the best-value generic or store-brand deal, each at a different store, and put all 25 on one page.
How we pick the deals
- Store brands first. Generic and store-brand products are usually the same quality as name brands for a lot less.
- Real prices. We check every price on the store's own product page and show the price per unit so you can compare.
- Checked every day. We re-check categories every day and swap in a better deal whenever we find one.
The Generic Index
Every month we price the same basket of 25 everyday store-brand items at Walmart and add it up, so you can see what basics really cost. See the Generic Index.
Run a category
Each of the 25 categories can be run by a partner who knows it best. Here's how it works.
How we make money
Each deal links to the store that sells it. When you buy through one of our links, the store may pay Generic.com a small commission. It never costs you anything extra, and it never changes which deals we pick.
